    KRTU - OPERATIONS MANAGER 

Trinity University's KRTU-FM, San Antonio, seeks a dynamic individual for the position of Operations Manager. KRTU is a non-commercial jazz and alternative rock station run by a professional staff, community volunteers, and students. The mission of KRTU-FM is to support and enhance the academic curriculum and to advance Trinity University's leadership in the fine arts.

Responsibilities:  Primary responsibility will be the healthy day-to-day operations of radio station hardware and software as directed by the Station Manager and General Manager. Additional duties will extend to peripheral station systems such as webcasting, web maintenance, and emergency alert systems, along with supervision and advising of student independent programming. Works with students, volunteers, and paid staff to see that the mission is achieved. The Operations Manager may teach a one hour course in KRTU announcing or production.

Specific Duties:  Maintains all KRTU broadcast systems, office technology, and oversees capital inventory; Supervises KRTU Indie Overnight programming and student management; Handles a daily on-air shift and provides fill-in announcing as necessary; In cooperation with the Music Director and Station Manager, trains and supervises all community volunteer and student hosts; Participates in various community events and coordinates recordings/productions of live Events; Works cooperatively and collaboratively with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.

Qualifications:  Should have a college degree and knowledge of non-commercial radio station operations including basic knowledge of FCC rules and regulations and advanced knowledge of computer systems (knowing Wide Orbit a plus). Must be able to train, recruit, and supervise students and volunteers. Weekly on-air shift required. Must have reliable transportation. Ideal candidate will have two or more years of radio broadcast experience.
